It is important to depart to Baikal's Chivyrkuisky Bay early in the morning because the days are short in winter here.
The road to Monakhovo (310 km) will take about 6 hours. You may stop in the village of Baturino to visit to the Sretensky Nunnery.
Good idea would be to lunch at Turka village in a roadside cafe, and then stop at the widely known natural monument Turtle Rock
Arriving to Ust-Barguzin, you may accommodate to one of hotels there because the trip will take the rest of the day and you'll have to spend the night in Ust-Barguzin.
Going to Zabaikalsky National Park. There is an entry fee to the Park - 100 rubles per person.
After passing the cordon of the National Park, drive along a country road along Chivyrkuy Isthmus that separates Lake Baikal from Lake Arangatui and Barguzin Bay from Chivyrkuy one. A cedar dwarf with fragrant cedar cones spreads along the coast.
Arangatuy Lakes are the habitat of countless birds, the lakes are rich in fish (perch, pike, magpie).
The final destination of the road trip is Monakhovo cordon.
Ice Skating and Snowmobiling can be organized there.
And of course the highlight of the Trip is visiting Ice Caves of Chivyrkuy Bay. It is an amazing and unforgettable vision.
Great photo session and unique impression is guaranteed!
After visiting that one-of-a-kind place you may dine in the guesthouse at Kulinoe Lake
and bathe in the mineral hot spring there.
Another option is ordering the Banya (Siberian bathhouse) on the shore of Barguzin Bay in the evening.
Diving the cool Baikal water after +100 С sweating room will purify you perfectly!)
