One of the ways to get acquainted with traditional Buryat culture is a trip to the village of Atsagat, 50 km from the capital of the Republic of Buryatia. At the foot of the sacred mountain Tamkhita. Buddhist Atsagat datsan rises at the beginning of the village, the territory is surrounded by sacred stupas, and the museum of the famous Buddhist Lama Aghvan Dorzhiev is located on the territory of the datsan.
Not far from Datsan there is a sculptural exhibition “Taban Khushuun Mal - Five Nomadic Jewels”, consisting of sculptures of a two-humped camel, a powerful bull, a steppe horse, a well-fed ram and a fine-fleece goat. An exposition by a well-known philanthropist from Atsagat B. Dolgorov. The whole life of nomadic Buryats depended on these animals in antiquity.
